Our team is seeking a communications professional who can help lead our team. We are looking for candidates that possess excellent writing and oral communication skills, client management experience, and a strong network of relationships that can join us as a Senior Vice President in our Washington D.C. office. This person should thrive in a fast-paced environment, want to work in a team-oriented environment, and be inclined to seek out challenges and opportunities.

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Vice President include, but are not limited to:

  • Running large client engagements, including providing executive level support for multiple communications and cross team accounts, serving as a strategy lead, project manager, and point person responsible for client successes.
  • Helping manage the communications team by streamlining processes, identifying and proposing solution to staffing problems, and ensuring tools that assist the team in its work.
  • Be a trusted advisor, demonstrating the experience, knowledge, and subject matter expertise to diagnose and resolve client problems and create value.
  • Providing the communications team, as a group and as individuals, with leadership that maintains morale levels, encourages collegiality and nudges people to be the best they can be day to day.
  • Supporting the Partners in the strategy for the growth of the team and ensuring that processes, norms, and practices are in place to deliver on our client contracts.
  • Setting strategic vision for client engagement, projects and content.
  • Overseeing content creation including review, edit, and providing feedback on materials from junior staff.
  • Work with agency leadership to evolve and execute its business strategy and be willing to take ownership of company wide initiatives that support that strategy.
  • Building and maintaining media relationships.
  • Owning the business development process from brainstorm to completion for cross team proposals.
  • Developing leads for additional work with existing clients and new projects and securing new business.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 12+ years or excellent experience in communications role in an in-house, agency, political campaign, government or consultancy environment.
  • Experience managing strategic communication programs and sensitive communication issues.
  • Ability to motivate colleagues and develop junior staff.
  • A strong track record for managing high profile, multifaceted projects/campaigns.
  • Wide-ranging relationships with media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative, energetic, detail-oriented and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.

Salary range for this role is $170,000 – 210,000.

Due to the pandemic, we required all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. We are currently working in a hybrid model and require staff to work in the office 50% of working days.
